City View Loft | Rachel + Joe's Chicago Wedding
I photographed Rachel and Joe’s proposal while they were on vacation in Traverse City. I was honored to also be asked to capture their wedding day at the City View Loft in Chicago.
These two had a unique morning planned. They got ready in the same hotel, but different rooms. They decided on a first look on the hotel rooftop overlooking the city. This was, they could have this moment to themselves, and we could take photos / video before the ceremony. After that, we headed off for an adventure in the city.
Rachel and Joe hired a driver, then set aside 2 hours for photos in Chicago. It’s not often I have this much time to get creative with my couples. Shared with the wedding videographer, we explored the city together before being taken to the City View Loft for Rachel and Joe’s ceremony. They shared some time to themselves in a private room with a couple drinks to decompress before the ceremony.
City View Loft is an industrial timber wood space. The parking is plentiful, space is open and clean, and the building exhibits a chic, sunlit event space that photographs nicely. They held their ceremony on the lower level, then moved upstairs for their reception.
The reception space at City View Loft was beautiful with the Chicago skyline visible through the loft windows. Their loved ones shared kind words for the newlyweds before dinner was served. Once everyone had eaten, the dance floor was opened up with Rachel and Joe’s first dance. The dancing proceeded through the night and didn’t let up even as I packed up to go at the end of my night with them.
Rachel and Joe’s wedding at the City View Loft in Chicago was like something out of a fairytale.
