Downtown Traverse City | Eden's Fall Senior Session
Downtown Traverse City is a great urban setting with close access to The Grand Traverse Bay and river.
Eden’s downtown Traverse City senior session was cold but worth it for the color that was bursting from the foliage. Autumn’s vibrant colors were peaking throughout Traverse, with an array of colorful trees and shrubs. I always love downtown Traverse City as a go-to for my sessions as it evolves through the seasons. The streets of Downtown Traverse City first fill with apple blossoms in spring. Summer is bustling with the tourists and lush greenery. Autumn is a favored season of mine for a senior session. Not only for the colors, there are also a lot less people.
Eden met me at the open space for our 9am senior session in downtown Traverse City. 9am is not usually ideal, I prefer sunrise or sunset for the best lighting. When the sun is out, it’s one more obstacle to work with as I have to be aware of harsh shadows. Although, our cloudy day worked out in our favor with evenly diffused lighting. The fall colors were at peak, and I couldn’t be happier about about our session. Eden, accompanied by her mom and sister, wandered with me down to the water, and through downtown for many fun and creative shots among the buildings and seasonal shrubs.
With this being the last session I photographed for 2020 in Michigan, I said goodbye to travel west to California. My winter travels were just as packed as my bags.
I’ll be home again in April for another summer of photographing seniors and more in Traverse City.
