While I often travel, I am primarily a Traverse City Wedding Photographer. If you want to hold your wedding at one of many wineries in Traverse City, host an outdoor ceremony with a barn reception, elope on Mackinac Island, have a small celebration on a Lake Michigan beach, gather your friends and family for a dinner party, travel to another country, or keep it traditional, I’d love to capture your day as unique and beautiful as it was.
I am always there when you need me. My primary role is to be your photographer, but I have experienced enough weddings to know when to step in. I will teach the groom how to pin his first boutonniere, and tux etiquette: a suit jacket’s bottom button should never be fastened. I have become a pro at bustling a wedding dress, and fluffing the train it to its full glory. On your wedding day, I will never be far, and am quick to help in between capturing all the moments as they happen. Although, I won’t be too in your face, I want you to have a chance to live in the presence of your wedding guests.
I don’t just pose you awkwardly, actually, I don’t do much posing at all.
Instead, I guide my couples so act and play in a way that is authentic. My goal is to have you fully immersed in every moment of your wedding. As your photographer, I know when to step in. I’m quick to direct bridal party and family photos. Although I always make a point to step back and observe my surroundings for candid magic. Some even say I can be a fly on the wall. By being less apparent at times, I feel I am able to capture much more intimate and authentic moments as they play out on your wedding day. When the time is right (ex. when we sneak away from the party for sunset photos), I’ll direct you to act and play in a way that creates genuine reactions, real smiles, with poses that feel and look natural.
This is how I get your true personality to come through in my photographs.
