Green Gardens Community Farm | Ashley + Brant's Flowery Greenhouse Wedding
A flowery greenhouse wedding in Battle Creek, Michigan.
This was my first time at Green Gardens Community Farm in Battle Creek, Michigan. I made the drive south from Traverse City as the photographer for Ashley and Brant’s wedding. I had my expectations of what a greenhouse wedding might be like, but really had no clue. Green Gardens Community Farm did not disappoint. Green Gardens Community Farm is a real working production farm with a unique greenhouse event space for weddings. The other greenhouses on the property are dedicated to growing fresh food and flowers. It was a unique experience to celebrate a wedding on an environmentally friendly and sustainable farm.
Ashley and Brant’s held their ceremony on an open sunny lawn. They decorated an arch for their ceremony and brough chairs for their closest friends and family to sit in. The pastor was not new officiating. Although, it was special for him to be the one to conduct the ceremony for his son and now daughter-in-law. Ashley said, “yes,” to a lifetime together with Brant. They proceeded to celebrate their union surrounded by some of the most important people in their lives.
With the addition of flowers arrangements brought in by Ashley and Brant, their reception in the greenhouse was a varying display of natural elements. I could see the intentions everyone put into decorating this already beautiful greenhouse for Ashley and Brant’s celebration. Additions to the wedding decorating included a swinging tree that was decorated with florals, arrangements or flowers that lined every table in the greenhouse, yard games, a s’more table, cigars to share. The most impressive addition was the 10×20 foot paper “flower wall” in the back of the greenhouse.
