A week before their elopement on Mackinac Island, Kayla and Sheldon reached out to me to ask if I would be their elopement photographer.

Mackinac Island Elopement photographerIt was a Monday that I was available for, so I was happy to make the short drive north to Kayla and Sheldon’s Mackinac Island elopement photographer. It was short and sweet. Kayla got ready Lakeside Salon at Mission Point. It was a drizzly day that let up just in time for Kayla and Sheldon’s ceremony on Mission Point Resort’s front lawn.

For the processional, they had their “flower man” set the mood with lots of laughing from the small guest count. Sheldon was in awe of Kayla’s beauty as she walked down the aisle. They said their vows then we met with a horse and carriage at the end of the ceremony. Mackinac Island Elopement photographerQuickly they signed their marriage certificate and were wisked away for an hour long Carriage Tour of Mackinac Island, including 3 stops for photos and frequent “congratulations”. The carriage tour is a simple and intimate way to get away from the chaos on your wedding day. As a photographer, I must say, Mackinac Island is not short on beautiful locations for photos. I can’t get over how many perfectly maintained flowers there are everywhere too. Mackinac Island is a magical place, and I especially love Kayla and Sheldon’s unique plans for their intimate summer elopement on Mackinac Island.
