Mackinac Island Wedding Photographer | Jen + Jon's Summer Celebration
Growing up only an hour south of Mackinaw, I am trilled to now be known as a Mackinac Island Wedding Photographer.
From my very first call with Jen, I could tell we were going to get along great. It was like we were already long-time friends chatting about her and Jon’s future wedding on Mackinac Island. I was stoked to be the photographer they chose to document this occasion.
Their wedding weekend finally came, and I was stoked, I was on Mackinac Island the day before for a proposal. Jen, Jon, and I met up briefly so I could say hi and meet some of their wedding party too. I love when it works out that I am able to meet my couple in person before the day of their wedding. Although Jen, Jon and I didn’t feel like strangers at all. Instantly we were excitedly chatting away about our adventures these last few days and the plans for tomorrow.
Jon and Jen were blessed with weather for a wedding that felt like a summer day. If you know Mackinac Island, you know that the island weather can be temperamental and likely windy. Although their day was perfect! It was partly cloudy with the sun peeking out here and there and minimal wind. As a photographer, I couldn’t have asked for better weather to photograph these two on Mackinac Island. The ceremony was beautiful, followed by their celebrations at Mission Point Resort overlooking the water. They shared drinks, food, deserts, and danced the night away. It was hard for me to leave, and I stayed until the very last minute. Sprinting to the harbor to catch the last ferry to leave the island.
