Brad and Kelsey hired me to capture their wedding next year in Gaylord. Before that day comes, they had me meet them to capture some engagement photos in Mackinaw City for their Save-The-Date invites.
These two met at LSSU, they were both studying in the field of criminal justice when they met each other. Now they are both in the work force and love what they do. It made sense that Brad would bring his Sheriff uniform for a few photos with Kelsey and I was beyond stoked to be able to capture them authentically. After taking off his uniform, Brad and Kelsey were more casual with the rest of their sunset session.
When asked if the dogs could join, the answer was an excited, “Yes.” We coordinated a location where there would be less people so the dogs wouldn’t get distracted by people. Two of Kelsey and Brad’s friends joined the session to hold the dogs and walk them around the park while their fur-parents had photos taken at the beach and nearby park. While the dogs loved the walking up and down the street, they were eager to be in photos too. We got the group together for a family photo. I especially loved coordinating the GIF above by calling them out of frame once we got our more formal photos. These two dogs were excited to be out and about.
We moved just down the road to the state park at the base of the Mackinac Bridge for the rest of their engagement session.
The sunset was beautiful, casting a pink glow in the horizon. Once the sun had officially set, they grabbed a few of their favorite Cheboygan Brewing Co. beers to share during blue hour once the lights on the Mackinac Bridge lit up.
