For our Michigan maternity session, the sun was setting over Lake Michigan, casting a golden glow over the dunes. Maggie and Trevor were both glowing with happiness, excited to be celebrating their upcoming arrival of a baby girl with a maternity photoshoot.
Maggie had chosen a variety of outfits for the shoot, each one more beautiful than the last. She started with a flowing dusty pink pleated dress that billowed in the wind, then changed into a pink sundress. She had a vision for the white dress to go in the water. For her final outfit, she slipped into a simple black dress that showed off her growing baby bump. I was also happy to share the handmade Leelanau Plant Co flower crown that perfectly matched Maggie’s outfits.
From playful and candid to romantic and intimate, the posing was hardly that at all. They were enjoying their evening out at the dunes. They walked hand-in-hand along the beach, waded in the water, and even climbed to the top of a sand dune to see the sun as it dipped lower than the hills.
As the sun continued to dip, I led them to a secluded spot with a 360 view. The sky was ablaze with color, and the waves were crashing along the Lake Michigan shoreline. Maggie and Trevor were so heartwarming, their arms wrapped around each other, and smiled as the golden light enveloped them.
It was the perfect end to a perfect photoshoot. Maggie and Trevor were so happy to have captured these memories of their pregnancy, and they knew that they would cherish them forever.
“I can’t believe how beautiful these photos are,” Maggie said as she looked through the previews on my camera. “Thank you so much for capturing this moment for us.”
“You’re welcome,” I said. As a Michigan maternity photographer, it’s fills me with so much joy to capture moments like this.
Maggie and Trevor smiled at each other. They were happy to have these memories to look back on, and they cannot wait to meet their little one.
