Louise, AKA Weezy reached out to me when she was looking for a Northern Michigan engagement photographer, someone who would hopefully photograph her wedding next year as well. You know those people you just vibe with? My first call with Weezy was full of excitement as we planned and got to know each other. The feeling I had that this was going to be a fun session was confirmed when Weezy asked, “…and maybe Terry and I can jump in the lake? We’re both swimmers.”

“YES!” The answer came out of my mouth with no hesitation. I waited patiently for Terry and Weezy to travel to Northern Michigan and for the day of our session. Their engagement shoot was more than I could have dreamed of.

At 8pm they arrived to Good Harbor Bay Beach, ready to go with multiple outfits and props.

They were just as happy and high-energy in person as they were on the phone call we had previously. Our session was like more of a hang out as we explored the beach, while I documented the experience. Seriously, I couldn’t have been happier, not only that but the sunset was beyond epic. From the time they arrived the sky evolved from dark and moody, to bright and sunny, then burst into ever-changing vibrant colors for sunset.

After a few outfits, Terry and Weezy had one final change of clothes before they ran along the shoreline together, then finished our engagement session by jumping in the water. I felt so blessed that they choose me as their engagement photographer during their stay in Northern Michigan. I can’t wait to photograph their wedding in 2022 now either.
