Roxanne and Spencer needed a Sleeping Bear Dunes engagement photographer before getting married this winter at Nature – A Michigan Retreat. Their engagement session in the Sleeping Bear Dunes was special, being at the same trail they got engaged on: Empire Bluffs Scenic Outlook. They chose a beautiful autumn day for a hike up to the bluffs. Immediately on the hike in, we already clicked. We excitedly talked about all the outdoor adventures that Roxanne and Spencer like to take. They especially love to explore in the winter months when everywhere is less busy. That’s opposite of me, as I leave every winter to avoid the cold.
We adventured the dunes together to admire many lookouts over lake Michigan.
Our engagement session at Sleeping Bear Dunes couldn’t have been better. They were giddy with each other which made my job easy documenting their love. Roxanne and Spencer were blessed with an epic sunset. While it had snowed in other parts of Michigan, the weather was pretty warm for an autumn evening. We wandered and played in the dunes until the sun had finally set in the horizon, casting a vibrant glow in the sky. Choosing the best pictures for Save-The-Dates was challenging. I love when that’s the only problem my couple has with the photos.
When they asked me about availability for their winter wedding, I couldn’t help myself; I was happy to extend my stay in Michigan to be there to document their day. With the engagement session at the dunes, I was happy since I love to meet my couples in advance. I now have their winter wedding to look forward to in Northern Michigan.
