The Ridge at Verterra Winery | Becca + Conor's Wedding
This was my first time at The Ridge at Verterra Winery in Leland. Although, it’s now a favorite venue of mine. Becca and Conor chose this wedding venue in Northern Michigan because of it’s beautiful location, and view of the the vast Lake Michigan just past the well maintained vineyards. It photographed beautifully all day with so many little nooks for photos; among the trees, with the flowers, in the rows of vineyards, on the well maintained lawn, at the arch in front of the pond, in the the elegantly decorated white tent. The Ridge at Verterra had everything I could ever wish for as the photographer of a wedding.
While it sprinkled on and off throughout the morning, it didn’t actually down pour until after the ceremony started. The family was seated, and bridal party began to make their entrance when drops of water came down. Guests were quick to get under their umbrellas, although the rain didn’t last long. Becca walked down the lawn to “Somewhere Over The Rainbow,” just as the rain let up with still epic, moody clouds. They said the vows and joined hands in marriage then enjoyed a delicious meal catered by Smoke and Porter. While they sat among their friends and family at gorgeously decorated tables toasts were shared.
Becca and Conor opened up the floor with a first dance as husband and wife. The fun ensued as the everyone joined the newlyweds on the dance floor. Everyone was just talking, and rejoicing in each other’s company. Even when I left at the end of the night, there was still dancing with other guests chatting the night away.
The Ridge at Verterra Winery was a perfect space to hold this special event and I cannot wait to photograph these grounds again.
