Wings of Mackinac Elopement

Brendan and Natalie chose to exchange their vows in a unique and intimate setting – the Wings of Mackinac Butterfly House. I embarked on an adventure with my 1.5 hour drive north to photograph this heartwarming elopement. To ensure I made it to their 8pm ceremony, I caught the earliest ferry at 7:30am to the island. Knowing that Sheplers ferry consistently takes 16-22 minutes, I had just enough time to make it 1 mile to the butterfly conservatory. With my trusty bike I hustled up the hill of Cadotte Ave. Arriving right on time, I was ready for a morning filled with butterflies love.

With Minister Marie Hulett leading the ceremony, the couple shared their vows, and sealed it with a kiss.

One moment I treasured from this elopement was when I had the honor of signing the marriage certificate as a witness. Alongside me, another worker from the island’s stables added their signature to this significant document. I loved that Brendan and Natalie focused on making this day so intimate.
